[attr="class","savannah"] Savannah hurriedly gathered the safari ball. She needed to find an exit. Fast. Heat stroke was no joke and she wasn't sure what happened in the pokeballs. For all she knew, the ice type could still be struggling. If she didn't find a Pokecenter fast enough.. would he die? Oh god, oh god. The thought made her head spin and chest tighten.
"We gotta go!" But.. which way? And what if she ran into that ghost again - No! That didn't matter. A life was at stake here (not really but she didn't know what). She frantically looked left and right, left and right. Nothing looked familiar. At. All. Savannah was lost and she was going to be the demise of the penguin and--
Teddy cleared his throat. When Savannah's attention wasn't diverted to him, he cleared his throat again.. louder this time. At last, the panic ridden woman looked at her companion. He started walking, turning around to make sure she was following. "You know the way out? Are you sure? I mean, I trust you and whole lot more than I trust myself-" she trailed off when she noticed Teddy off in the distance, giving her an exasperated look.
The trek back was uneventful. Teddy had a wonderful memory (he could always recall where he found honey) and the Dratini had dozed off. Considering her luck, it was surprising how smooth the rushed voyage was-
Aaand she spoke too soon.
Consumed by worrisome thoughts, Savannah didn't notice the small Pokemon until she accidentally tripped over it. With a small squeak, she stumbled as she tried to regain her balance. Unfortunately, she ended up flat on her face. At first, she thought she had tripped over a root but the surprised cry of a Pokemon told her otherwise. It overlapped with the confused, drowsy cry of the Dratini that had somehow managed to stay around her neck.
"Oh my - I'm so, so sorry." Her shaky words feel on deaf ears as the spooked Pokemon suddenly shot a strange, black pollen at her. Teddy tensed up and rushed to her side, glaring at the small bug. "Teddy, I'm fine. We need to hurry.." At that moment her leg went numb and, for the second time, she found herself face first on the ground. The paralysis had finally settled in.
By the time Savannah could hoist herself up, unsteady due to her limp leg, the source of the paralysis was not moving. Teddy stood over it in a fit of rage. He had attacked, slashing his foe, the moment Savannah fell. "Teddy! Stop! It's my fault. I spooked the little critter." Of course, it was too late now.
The Scatterbug was unconscious which left it defenseless against birds of prey. As her leg began to regain its functionality, she dug through the pockets for the last safari ball. Teddy tried to protest but it was too late: the ball had been thrown.
Two of the three balls now held collapsed, unconscious Pokemon (that is, if she actually caught the small bug). Savannah scurried toward the entrance that was now within view, Teddy hot on her heels. Maybe the scary warden would know where the nearest Pokemon center was..
attempting to catch the scatterbug! thank you!
